Projects
A project is one app. It holds the app's environments, deployments, variables and domains, and the settings its builds use.
What a project has
| Name | Shown in the dashboard. Taken from package.json by default, and can be changed at any time. |
| Slug | Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. Names the project in dashboard URLs and in --project, and gives production its address, <slug>.hiraiship.app. It can't be changed after the project is created. |
| Environments | production, plus any you add. See Environments. |
| Build settings | Install command, build command, output directory and build machine. See Build settings. |
| Variables | Per environment. See Environment variables. |
| Domains | See Domains. |
The dashboard shows each project with its latest deployment and its address, under your workspace's Projects page.
Project settings
A project's Settings page has three tabs:
- General: the name, the slug and default address (read-only), and deleting the project.
- Build: the build settings.
- Environments: adding, renaming and deleting environments.
To get another default address, add a custom domain, or create a new project with the slug you want.
How many projects
As many as you need: plans don't count projects, they count live environments. Creating projects is rate-limited per hour, so that a script gone wrong can't create thousands:
| Free | Standard | Pro | Platform | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| New projects / hour | 5 | 30 | 60 | 1,000 | 120 |
Past the limit, creation is refused with HTTP 429 and a Retry-After header saying when to try again.
Who can do what
| Action | Roles |
|---|---|
| See projects and deployments | Every member |
| Create a project, deploy, edit settings, variables and domains | Owner, admin, developer |
| Delete a project | Owner, admin |
