What we measure
Usage is counted per workspace and per calendar month, UTC. The workspace's Settings → Usage page shows the current month, against your plan's included amounts.
Requests
Every request to one of your domains counts as one request, whether it:
- runs your code (a backend, a server-rendered page);
- or is a static file served directly (an image, a script, an HTML page).
Static files count because each of them goes through Hiraiship's router first. A redirect, a 404 for an unknown hostname, or a status page don't count.
CPU time
The time your code spends computing, in milliseconds, for requests that run it. Waiting on a database or an API call doesn't count: CPU time is often a few milliseconds even for a request that takes a second. Static files use none.
On Free, CPU time isn't counted per month: each request is capped instead. See Limits.
Build minutes
The duration of each build, from Preparing to the end of Packaging, with a minimum of 30 seconds per build. Minutes on your plan's default machine count toward the included ones; see Build machines.
Live environments, custom domains and seats
Counted once a day:
- live environments: environments with a deployment serving traffic, not paused or hibernated;
- custom domains: every domain you added, default
hiraiship.appdomains excluded; - seats: the workspace's members. On paid plans, viewers don't take a seat.
On a paid plan, what's past the included amount is billed for the days it existed, not the whole month.
What isn't measured
- Bandwidth: responses of any size count as one request.
- Outgoing requests from your code: capped per request rather than counted. See Limits.
How fresh the numbers are
Usage is collected from Cloudflare every 15 minutes, so the Usage page can lag by that much. Limits checked at the moment of an action, like starting a build, are always current.
