Rollback

A rollback makes an earlier successful deployment the current one again. Nothing is built: the deployment's stored output is published again, so it's live within seconds.

Rolling back

Open the project in the dashboard. In its recent deployments, open the menu of the deployment to go back to and choose Rollback to this deployment. Its environment serves it as soon as it's published.

What you can roll back to

  • A deployment of the same environment, with status Ready.
  • One of the environment's most recent successful deployments. How many are kept depends on your plan:

Older deployments stay in your history, but can't be put back live: deploy their source again instead.

What happens next

  • The rolled-back deployment is published with the environment's current variables, not the ones it was first deployed with.
  • It stays current until the next successful build, which becomes current as usual. A rollback doesn't stop future deploys.
  • Rolling back into a paused environment brings it back live, as long as your plan has a live environment to spare.
